Soy Products
Building new markets and increasing consumption are primary goals of both the USB and the MSMC. The Checkoff’s work with universities, private companies and industry organizations continue to lead to the development of new soy products and applications. At the same time, current soy-based products are quickly gaining popularity as the checkoff spreads the word about the many benefits of soy.
Missouri’s Role
Missouri has long been on the forefront of the development and commercialization of soy-based products. In fact, it was Missouri soybean farmers who first invested in the early 90’s biodiesel research done by the University of Missouri-Columbia, essentially giving birth to a new soy industry here in the U.S.
Throughout the 16 years since this historic research, the MSMC has continued to support research targeting the development of new soy-based products.
