Entities looking to invest in the installation or retrofitting of infrastructure for biodiesel distribution can apply for two programs available at the federal and state levels.
USDA released its Higher Blends Infrastructure Incentive Program (HBIIP), through which $14 million has been made available for biodiesel infrastructure projects. HBIIP grants may support biodiesel distribution facilities, terminal operations and fleet facilities. Grants for up to 50 percent of total eligible project costs are available. Click here for the HBIIP fact sheet from USDA Rural Development.
The Missouri Agricultural and Small Business Development Authority (MASBDA) has released a statewide Biofuels Infrastructure Program (BIP). This program is designed to partner with entities receiving funding through HBIIP. MASBA will provide up to 25% of the required cash match to the USDA HBIIP, not to exceed $200,000 per entity. Applications are now available and deadline to apply is July 1. Click here for the BIP program overview from MASBDA.
