The Farm for Soy Innovation, located at 5601 S Rangeline Rd in Columbia, was established in 2004 and opened eight years later as a premier site for soybean-related research and education. Once called the Bay Farm Research Facility, today, it serves as a hub for on-farm research and demonstration projects in the latest agronomic research, conservation practices, and new technology. The facility also hosts events, meetings and training sessions, providing space for in-field research, business and market development, and farmer-focused education. Visitors are welcome to tour the Farm for Soy Innovation—contact Missouri Soybeans to schedule a visit and see firsthand how the facility continues to respond to the needs of Missouri soybean farmers.

This advanced technology helps breeders quickly identify desirable seed traits, such as high protein, oleic acid, and total oil content, resulting in more effective field trials.

Knowledge sharing
At the Farm for Soy Innovation, collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. We work closely with a wide range of agricultural partners to stay connected to the latest research, production practices, and industry trends that are shaping Missouri agriculture. These partnerships allow us to bring timely, practical insights directly to farmers and stakeholders. In addition, we regularly host school groups, industry leaders, and community organizations on the farm, showcasing our research plots and demonstration areas as living classrooms. By opening our gates, we not only highlight the value of checkoff-funded innovation but also foster dialogue that strengthens the future of agriculture in Missouri.
