Missouri Soybean Applauds Gov. Nixon’s Commitment to Farmers, Biodiesel

The Missouri Soybean Association applauds the commitment Governor Nixon made to the farmer investors of Missouri’s biodiesel plants through the State of the State address and budget recommendation for a full and final payment of the Missouri Qualified Biodiesel Producer Incentive Fund.

The Missouri Soybean Association looks forward to working closely with legislative leaders in the House and Senate in the weeks and months ahead to ensure that this commitment to Missouri agriculture is made complete.

Soybean growers and farmer investors have made Missouri a national leader in biodiesel, supporting applied research, as well as growing the state’s production of the renewable fuel to 200 million gallons last year, supporting jobs for rural Missourians and creating a value-added benefit of more than $1.17 billion for Missouri’s gross domestic product (GDP).

The Missouri Soybean Association is a statewide membership organization designed to increase the profitability of Missouri soybean farmers through advocacy and education efforts across the state. To learn more, visit Missouri Soybean online at mosoy.org.
