(Jefferson City, Mo.) — This week, Missouri Soybeans hosted its annual summer Missouri Soybean Association (MSA) board meeting with farmer directors across the Show-Me State. During the meeting, MSA welcomed a new board member, Wesley Hodges, to the team.
“The selection and induction of new board members is not to be understated,” said Gary Wheeler, Missouri Soybeans CEO and executive director. “Through a stakeholder selection process and word-of-mouth support of these individuals, I rest assured knowing both of our organizations are in the hands of impactful soybean servants.”
From New Madrid, Missouri, Hodges was raised on a family farm in Matthews, where he developed a deep-rooted passion for agriculture. After nine years as a Seed Territory Manager, Wesley founded Hodges Seed Service LLC, where he now sells corn and soybean seed to farmers in New Madrid, Pemiscot, Scott, and Mississippi counties.
“I look forward to joining the Association. I’m committed to empowering farmers by enhancing their profitability and competitiveness with more information and insights,” said Hodges. “My dedication lies in influencing agricultural policy to support growers, ensuring they thrive in an ever-evolving market.”
Hodges proceeds Pete Rost Jr. on the MSA board. Rost served as a farmer-leader from New Madrid, Mo.
“It’s rewarding to watch the mission of MSA prosper with our new board members,” said Renee Fordyce, MSA president. “The soybean industry continues to thrive because of these leaders who have volunteered to serve and shape the sector through pivotal leadership and political engagement.”
