U.S. Pork Promotion Partnership
Funding promotion activities that build demand for chilled U.S. pork in Japan
About this research project
MoSoy Investment = $50,000
U.S. Pork Promotion Partnership, which will fund promotion activities that build demand for chilled U.S. pork in Japan. USMEF will invest Missouri soybean checkoff funds in education and promotion activities that build long-term demand for chilled U.S. pork in Japan’s retail sector. A strategic objective in Japan is to expand U.S. pork’s presence on retail shelves, targeting regional retailers to displace competitor product. USMEF will identify and target regional chains under-served by U.S. pork, working with these target accounts to demonstrate the profitability of chilled U.S. pork with tailored promotions. Exports of chilled U.S. pork represent a 52-week purchasing commitment and fosters premium prices and sustained demand.
