Save the Date – Missouri Soybean Association Annual Meeting
Missouri soybean farmers’ annual gathering at the Capitol is coming up fast. Just ahead of National Ag Week, Missouri soybean farmers will meet in Jefferson City with industry representatives, legislators and one another for the Missouri Soybean Association’s annual meeting.
“Soybeans are Missouri’s top cash crop and soybean farmers are an important voice for Missouri agriculture, as well as for transportation, exports and economic development.” said Tom Raffety, a southeast Missouri farmer and president of the Missouri Soybean Association. “The Missouri Soybean Association is the farmers’ voice in Jefferson City, and we look forward to bringing farmers together to raise awareness of soybeans’ impact on our state.”
This year, the Missouri Soybean Association will host its annual event Wednesday, March 11. The day will include a breakfast and a keynote address by Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster, followed by a brief business meeting and review of the Association’s resolutions. Missouri soybean farmers will then head to the Capitol for personal visits with their legislators.
In addition to those activities, the Missouri Soybean Merchandising Council will be hosting a lunch in the Capitol rotunda and will be featuring biodiesel vehicles at the Capitol that day.
Plans are also underway for a reception at the soybean office the evening before to include soybean growers as well as others involved with Missouri agriculture.
The annual meeting is open to the public and free to members of the Missouri Soybean Association.
All are encouraged to attend the lunch and biodiesel vehicle display sponsored by the Missouri Soybean Merchandising Council and the soybean checkoff.
