Animal Ag
Supporting Our Number One Customer
Livestock and poultry producers represent the largest domestic customer for U.S. soybean meal. The animal agriculture industry consumes 98 percent of domestically used soybean meal – that translates to nearly 1.4 billion bushels, or more than 32 million acres of soybeans each year. Supporting livestock and poultry producers directly benefits the soybean farmers who feed America’s swine, poultry and cattle.
Like soybean farmers, U.S. livestock and poultry producers work hard to provide the world with a safe, affordable and nutritious food supply. The soybean checkoff funds research, education and promotion efforts to help support the animal agriculture industry, including efforts that focus on improving the nutritional value of soybean meal to meet the needs of livestock and poultry producers.
